Orion, a black-hatted frontier outlaw, seated in a dimly lit room. Visual record / verified

Person / 001

Orion

Wanted outlaw, underground performer, and the government’s most persistent administrative problem.

Severe when annoyed

Orion works beyond the civilized line, targeting traffickers, exploiters, and anyone who mistakes authority for virtue. He plans carefully, shoots cleanly, and keeps children out of the crossfire whenever he can.

Between jobs, he performs in underground bars under his own name—either confidence or arrogance, depending on who is filing the report. His turquoise pendant is the only personal object he guards more closely than his weapons.

Field note If the hat comes off, the situation has already changed.

Rigel

Grew up beside Orion under Atlas’s watch. Where Orion plans, Rigel improvises—especially when a quiet extraction becomes a close-quarters argument.

Places

The dim neon-lit interior of M42, an underground frontier bar.

Location / 014

M42

Part saloon, part stage, part information exchange. M42 offers music, whiskey, and the fragile protection of neutral ground. Hospitality is selective. Trouble is not.

  • Known for live underground performances
  • Favored meeting point for smugglers and informants
  • Government presence strongly discouraged
A lone figure crossing the reflective cracked surface of the Glass Desert.

Region / 027

Glass Desert

A vast expanse of fused, reflective earth. Beautiful from orbit. Less forgiving on foot. Heat, fractured terrain, and the absence of cover make every crossing visible.

  • Reflected light distorts distance
  • Fractured ground punishes careless travel
  • Night crossings are safer, never safe
A retro-futuristic pirate radio outpost glowing in the desert at night.

Signal / 008

Free Frequency

An illegal broadcast carried across abandoned channels: warnings, music, coordinates, names the government would rather erase. Its transmitters move. Its operators do not identify themselves.

What remains

01

The Authority

A centralized regime holding the surviving population through surveillance, restriction, and selective mercy. Official records describe order. The frontier remembers the cost.

02

The Frontier

Territory beyond reliable government control: settlements, ruins, trade routes, and long stretches of beautiful bad judgment.

03

The Underground

Not one organization, but a shifting network of performers, smugglers, informants, vigilantes, and ordinary people who refuse to disappear quietly.
